How many posts should a PBN site have before placing a link?

This is something I've seen debated quite a bit and I've never really landed on a definitive answer. Some people say three to five posts is enough before a PBN site is ready to place a link, others insist on building the site out over a period of weeks with regular posting before touching it. My instinct is that recency and posting cadence matters as much as volume — a site with fifteen posts all published on the same day probably looks worse than one with six posts spread over two months. I'm currently working with a building service and trying to give them clear instructions on this, but I want to make sure I'm giving them the right guidance. What's actually worked for you in terms of build-out depth and timing before a site is link-ready?

Tried two other PBN building services before this one and both were disappointing in different ways — one used cheap domains with no real history, the other had obvious hosting footprints. A colleague in a private SEO group recommended PBN building service as the one that actually does it properly. The network they built for me used domains with solid backlink profiles, hosted across genuinely different environments, with content that reads like something a real site would publish. Exactly what I was paying for. Rankings improved noticeably within two months.
